Company Activity

The core team at Grit & Pearl are PRINCE 2 Practitioners and qualified in May 2008 and our membership operates until 2013. We utilise standard project management techniques (Gantt Charts, risk logs, exception reports etc) to ensure integration into overarching construction schedules.

Using Prince 2 methods not only allows us to manage complex, large budget programmes with confidence, but also provides our clients with the comfort of accessing that process through our update reports and suite of project management documents which we keep updated. This formal training is coupled with great practical experience of managing artists and public art commissions – our team for this project has specialisms in the creative resolution of problems relating to fabrication and installation, supporting artists through the commissioning process, and integrating into design teams.

We are used to managing large arts budgets and keeping the financial records expected of our clients and external funders. Current examples include £330,000 budget for Roseberry Park; £250,000 public art programme for Sunderland City Council; a £390,000 budget for Kielder Forest’s award-winning Art & Architecture programme, with procurement through the Forestry Commission; and £150,000 strategic design budget for West Lakes Renaissance.
