Martin is a Director of Grit & Pearl, a Prince 2 Practitioner and Grit & Pearl’s lead on sustainable design, design guidance and community advocacy. Working in regeneration with a specialism in design and sustainability, his current projects include delivering six art commissions for the Kielder Partnership and providing sustainability advice to several private sector clients. While working for One North East, the regional development agency, Martin’s role was to raise the quality of physical projects being delivered through public funding. This role required expertise in architecture, urban design, inclusive design, procurement, energy performance and other areas within the sustainability agenda. As a former Director of the Cockburn Association (The Edinburgh Civic Trust), Martin has a proven track record of high level advocacy work, campaigning for improvements to the amenity of Edinburgh on issues of heritage, environment, transport, architecture and urban design.
