Update on St John's Square, Seaham
Shortlisted artists, Inges Idee, Kenny Hunter and Jo Fairfax presented their ideas for a new public art work for St John’s Square at a selection meeting on 29 October. The selection panel consisted of Councillors from Durham County Council and Seaham Town Council; Durham Arts Officer, Colin Robson ; and Seaham Residents. The panel were impressed by the high quality and creativity of the commissions.
Posters and leaflets with a description of each artwork will be placed in libraries, shops and other public venues in Seaham . Residents will be invited to send in their views on the artists proposals prior to the final selection meeting.
A final decision will be made on 10 December and the successful artist will be announced on 12 December.
