Grit & Pearl are the largest public art commissioner in the North-East of England, with a team of six experienced curators and project managers. Much or our work is for ‘%forArt’ schemes within major capital builds, with projects including museums, leisure facilities, colleges, housing schemes and hospitals.

Grit & Pearl has particular skills and experience in the direct delivery of complex fabrication and installations, including successful delivery of artworks in ‘difficult’ locations at height, offshore, on listed structures and scheduled ancient monuments, and in medical environments. Most importantly we have significant experience of delivering projects within capital schemes, from the £75m PFI scheme for Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough through to the £2.5m Grindon Mews, Sunderland.
