City of Durham Council commissioned three major artworks for their flagship £12.3m swimming pool and leisure centre at Freemans Quay. Working for Durham City Arts, Grit & Pearl developed two glass commissions by Gavin Marshall that take textures and imagery from Durham’s prehistoric plant species as their inspiration, and managed the delivery of a stunning and contemporary sculptural fence by artist Keri Townsend.
