The project, undertaken from April 2008 to October 2009, was to manage the development of six installations as part of the Art & Architecture programme at Kielder. These installations, created by a range of designers were curated by Peter Sharpe from the Kielder Partnership and fabricated by firms in Brighton, Cambridge, Inverness, Munich and Kielder.
Grit & Pearl were commissioned to undertake the project management of the six installations. This involved: steering the projects through the statutory planning process; facilitating the procurement of the fabrication firms for each individual structure; managing the budgets, risk logs and reporting mechanisms; ensuring the fabrication process was undertaken to meet time and quality requirements; and ensuring installation on site was integrated with the wider project.
