Roseberry Park is Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust’s multimillion pound redevelopment of the current St Luke’s hospital site in Middlesbrough. Providing a wide range of mental health and learning disability services.

Grit & Pearl were appointed to curate and manage the art commissions for Roseberry Park. Artists were appointed and undertook commissions including glass designs for the day rooms, cafe, and multi-faith spaces; interactive sculptures and therapeutic artworks for Older Adults.

The largest of the individual artworks is the ‘Finding Ways’ way finding poetry by Richard Hollinshead and poet Carolyn Jess-Cooke. The 600 metre long ribbon of CorTen steel with stainless steel poetry leading the visitor from the Roseberry Park entrance to the doorways of individual ward blocks. Along this journey the poem emerges from the ground to form seating and other features.
